Outlook for Implementation of Fuel Cellsby Gabriella Schneider
Fuel cell vehicles have high potential to be successful in the future. Already, fuel cell vehicles are more energy efficient than gasoline-powered vehicles; and, they present a solution to vehicular green house gas emission. Also, the fuel cell vehicles could help theUnited States rely less on foreign countries for energy.
After further research and development, two factors must come together for fuel cell vehicles to succeed: accessibility and affordability. Scientist must develop a way for hydrogen fuel to be readily available, for people to be able to refuel their fuel cell vehicles as needed. This hydrogen fuel must also be affordable. The cost of hydrogen fuel must be the same, if not less, than that of gasoline. The vehicles themselves must also be affordable and accessible. Scientists are already in the process of developing fuel cell vehicles and hope to market them in the near future. However, if these cars are too expensive, only the wealthy will have the ability to use them. The fuel cell vehicles must be reasonably priced if, eventually, most people are to be using them.
Many people are looking for ways to improve the environment. The fuel cell vehicles would be very appealing for people with environmental concerns. And if the vehicles eventually are less expensive than gasoline-powered vehicles, then most people will be inclined to purchase one. home
